FLOW

The family polyclinic (partial renovation) emphasizes on the creation of an inclusive, calming and stress free environment. Using natural materials as the essential elements to combine a serene, minimalistic and warm space. The design aims to reconnect between people and nature. The plan focuses on functionality as well as an easy flowing space. Light plays an instrumental role in the clinic through acting as way-finding to the different spaces and emphasizing the check in and out areas. The light flows organically with no sharp edges giving it a soft form as it flows in the space. Colors play a role in providing comfort as well as coziness to anxious patients, lowering their anxiety and stress levels.

Wayfinding was a design solution that was implemented in the design process of the clinic. Reasons of the importance of wayfinding through the ceiling design was a key element that was not that common in clinics as well as it gave an easy flow to the user visually. These LED strips emphasized the check in and check out areas as well as lead patients to their exam rooms by visual perspective. The link between what was created in the ceiling system follows the modernized way of wayfinding and embracing the end user’s experience. The walls were designed to flow organically and have no harsh edges to reinforce the idea of an organic space that allows easy movement through the space.
